Countless screams of joy, tears of defeat and nail-biting excitement of penalty shoot-outs have been recorded on the football pitches around Helsinki every July. We've even seen our share of incredible howlers as well.

Helsinki Cup could never have reached its current status without its international aspect. The numbers of foreign teams have gone up and down over the years, but representatives from 78 countries have made their way to Helsinki over the last three decades. In addition to the neighbouring countries, particularly football's giant nation Brazil, has been strongly represented throughout the years. Countries like Gambia, Djibouti, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Seychelles, New Zealand and many others have brought in their exotic touches to the event.
