Piteå is a major town situated on the Gulf of Bothnia, 900 km north of Stockholm and only 100 km south of the Arctic
Circle. In 1990 the First Pitea Summergames took place in this unique environment where you can play a game under the midnight
sun!
In 1990 169 teams participated, and they came from three nations.
Since them, PSG has evolved. It is now the
second largest tournament in Sweden, and top-ten in the world.
Through the years we have had visiting teams from Peru,
Italy, Russia, Greece, Armenia, USA, Brazil, Taiwan, Guatemala, Estonia, Latvia, Mexico, Argentina, Denmark, Norway, Finland,
Ukraine and Germany. The Swedish teams come from all over the country.
The opening ceremony takes place in the centre
of Piteå on Friday evening. It contains an inaugural, entertainment and a big parade through central Piteå. Do
not miss this fantastic opening ceremony! Friday through Sunday, a ball juggling competition will take place in Nolia Piteå.
All the players in Piteå Summer Games may take part. There is one class for boys and one for girls. The three best participants
will receive cups. On Saturday there will be a big youth disco with dancing soccer players.
The outdoor pools at Norrstrand
and at Piteå Havsbad are popular places to visit, as well as the Aqua Park at Piteå Havsbad.
There will also
be lots of other activities to participate in during the tournament.
